Yarin Gal
Yarin is an Associate Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Oxford's Computer Science department, and is head of the Oxford Applied and Theoretical Machine Learning Group. He is also a Fellow of the Alan Turing Institute. We have been working with Yarin since 2019. He advises us on all aspects of machine learning.
Yael Grushka-Cockayne
Yael is a Senior Associate Dean at the University of Virginia, focusing on decision analysis, forecasting and project management. She was named one of “21 Thought-Leader Professors” in data science in 2014. We have been working with Yael and her research team since the very early days of nPlan. She advises us on forecasting and decision analysis research, particularly for construction projects.
Ben Boys
As part of nPlan’s continuous collaboration with the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment: Resilience in a Changing World (FIBE2) programme, we are sponsoring Ben Boys to pursue a PhD at the University of Cambridge. His research interests include accurate risk estimates from either small or large amounts of data, especially when making model-based predictions on out-of-sample data. This can be achieved by making predictions with probability distributions that have sound quantification of uncertainty. Broadly, efforts to achieve this account for the noise of the data and the uncertainty of all of the model parameters given the data. Ben is supervised by Prof. Mark Girolami.
